Zama Secures $57M Series B to Pioneer FHE Encryption for Public Blockchains
Zama, an open-source cryptography firm specializing in Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), has raised $57 million in a Series B round co-led by Blockchange Ventures and Pantera Capital. The funding catapults Zama to unicorn status with a valuation exceeding $1 billion, marking a watershed moment for FHE adoption in blockchain.
The capital will accelerate the launch of Zama Protocol, enabling confidential smart contracts on any blockchain. A public testnet for FHE-based applications is slated for July 2025, addressing growing demand for privacy-preserving financial infrastructure. The protocol aims to support thousands of transactions per second while maintaining regulatory compliance.
